Established in 2005, Family Podiatry Centre provides foot and lower-limb care from clinics in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Our work spans musculoskeletal podiatry, biomechanics, sports and paediatric care, gait and plantar-pressure assessment, nail and skin conditions, shockwave therapy, footwear advice and custom orthotic management.

At Family Podiatry Centre, we want podiatrists who are curious about the person behind the symptoms. We value clinicians who can combine evidence, clinical judgement and appropriate technology; explain their findings in language patients understand; and recommend care because it is needed, not because it belongs to a package.
Our patients include children, adults, athletes and older people. Some need help with an acute problem. Others arrive with long-standing pain, complex biomechanics or previous treatments that have not worked. This creates a varied caseload and gives a motivated podiatrist room to deepen both clinical reasoning and practical skill.

"Many years ago, I was offered an opportunity that changed the direction of my career. I left my practice in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and moved to Asia.
It was a significant decision, but it opened a professional world I could not have experienced by staying where I was comfortable. Over more than 25 years in podiatry, I have worked across South Africa, Malaysia and Singapore, managed six clinics and trained numerous podiatrists.
My interest in podiatry has always extended beyond treating the symptom in front of me. It led me deeper into biomechanics, gait, footwear, orthotic design and eventually palaeoanthropology—the study of how human structure and movement developed. That same curiosity continues to influence how we assess patients and how I think about the future of our profession.
I also understand what it means to consider moving to another country for work. For the right person, a role in Singapore or Malaysia can be more than a change of employer. It can broaden your clinical experience, challenge your thinking and change the trajectory of your career.

Clinical work that remains interesting
A career at Family Podiatry Centre can expose you to a broad range of presentations rather than confining you to one narrow area of practice.
Musculoskeletal podiatry and biomechanics
Assess foot and lower-limb pain, joint and tendon problems, recurrent injuries, alignment concerns and movement-related symptoms. Clinical examination can be supported by gait observation, video analysis and plantar-pressure data where appropriate.
Sports and active patients
Work with runners, gym users, field-sport athletes, hybrid athletes and active people who want to return to movement. Treatment is guided by the demands of the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all definition of the “ideal” foot.
Paediatric podiatry
Assess children with walking concerns, pain, flat feet, intoeing, out-toeing, frequent tripping or activity-related symptoms. Clear communication with both the child and parent is an important part of the work.
Nail, skin and forefoot care
Manage everyday but often life-limiting problems such as ingrown or involuted nails, corns, callus, plantar warts and other common foot-health concerns. These cases reward careful technique, reassurance and good follow-up.
Rehabilitation and conservative treatment
Combine education, exercise, load management, footwear modification, shockwave therapy, orthotic management and other appropriate options according to the patient’s diagnosis and goals.
Follow the orthotic process more closely
Family Podiatry Centre has an in-house CAD/CAM orthotics laboratory and has produced more than 30,000 pairs of custom-made orthotics. Our devices are manufactured in Singapore rather than routinely outsourced to an unrelated external laboratory.
For a podiatrist interested in biomechanics and orthotic therapy, this creates a closer connection between assessment, prescription, design, manufacturing, fitting and clinical review. Orthotics are not treated as a product selected in isolation. They form one possible part of a wider management plan and are prescribed according to clinical need.
This closer relationship between clinic and laboratory also encourages better questions: What exactly are we trying to change? Where should force be redistributed? What does the patient’s footwear allow? How will we evaluate whether the intervention is working?

Our Singapore clinics serve the central Bukit Timah area from Greendale Avenue and the East Coast from Joo Chiat Road. Singapore offers an international, highly connected environment in which patients tend to be informed, mobile and engaged with their healthcare.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Our Malaysian clinic is located in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, commonly known as TTDI. Kuala Lumpur offers a diverse patient population, an energetic professional environment and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of modern podiatry in Malaysia.
Applicants may state a preferred country or location. Final placement will depend on the available role, professional eligibility and the needs of the practice.
